Exclusive Cocaine Addiction Treatment

At Paracelsus Recovery, our cocaine addiction rehabilitation programmes are specialised and exclusive. We provide a safe and medically supervised withdrawal from cocaine, making it as comfortable as possible with supporting infusions (IVs) and therapies. The withdrawal protocol will be carried out and supervised by a clinical nurse and our psychiatrist.

Once you have completed the withdrawal process, our priority is to understand your relationship with cocaine. There are numerous physical, psychological and contextual factors that can contribute to this.

During the treatment process, we will identify any underlying factors that have contributed to the dependency and any co-occurring substance abuse or mental health conditions via a thorough 360° assessment. This includes an extensive medical check-up, psychiatric evaluation, comprehensive laboratory tests, a functional health assessment and a lifestyle assessment. With this information, we can design and implement a comprehensive and individually tailored treatment programme.

Deciding to go to rehab for cocaine addiction is a difficult decision to make. For many high-profile, ultra-high net worth individuals, there are numerous factors at play that most people never have to consider. At Paracelsus Recovery, we understand these nuances and plan accordingly. We only ever have one client at a time to ensure confidentiality and maximum care. Unlike other treatment programmes, we will never take your devices from you nor insist that you do not work during treatment. Instead, we strive to make the treatment programme work for you, not the other way round, to ensure optimum care and recovery.

Signs of Cocaine Addiction

Cocaine is a highly addictive central nervous system stimulant. Amongst other effects, cocaine activates chemical messengers (dopamine and norepinephrine) which are involved in emotional regulation, impulse control, decision making and stress management. Cocaine is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream with highs lasting between 5–30 minutes.

Once ingested, the individual feels euphoric, confident and energetic. However, once the high has passed, the outpouring of dopamine is replaced by an impoverishment of it. The individual can start to feel anxious, depressed, irritable, tired and confused. This process heightens the potential for dependency.

Signs of Cocaine Dependency Include:

•  Mood swings.
•  Feeling increasingly stressed.
•  Changes in sleeping and eating patterns.
•  Symptoms of anxiety, paranoia or depression.
•  The sudden inability to complete social activities or tasks without the substance.
•  More frequent cases of physical illness.
•  Increasing the amount ingested to get the same ‘high’.
•  Withdrawal symptoms such as paranoia, anxiety or flu-like symptoms.
•  A loss of interest in relationships, activities and hobbies that once brought you joy.

FAQs

Cocaine drastically increases the amount of dopamine in circulation in the brain. When we experience something that is pleasurable, helps us pass on our genes or ensures our survival, neurons in our brain release dopamine to tell us that we should repeat that behaviour. Once released, neurons will then recycle that dopamine. Cocaine essentially hijacks this communication process. It tells our brain to release dopamine but it prevents our neurons from recycling it back into our system. This leads to an unsustainable and artificial build-up of feel-good chemicals followed by intense feelings of sadness as our brain tries to rebalance.

Cocaine abuse increases an individual’s chances of experiencing a heart attack or stroke and weakens the immune system, which can result in numerous health problems. Due to its impact on the brain’s neurotransmitters, cocaine abuse will sow the seeds for mental health conditions to develop, such as anxiety or depression.

We can provide exclusive cocaine addiction rehabilitation in London and Zurich.

Withdrawal symptoms include fatigue, depression, restlessness, nightmares, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. Detox is often required upon arrival to manage the side-effects of long-term cocaine use.
