Sarah holds a Master of Science degree in Advanced Practice Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the United States. Her core competencies as a Family Nurse Practitioner are: · Autonomous performance of comprehensive clinical and physical assessments and provision of care during acute illness to clients of all ages. · Management of acute and chronic health conditions based upon evidence-based practise, including the diagnosis of various conditions, ordering and interpreting of tests, planning of care, the performance of minor procedures and implementation of care, counselling, follow-up and evaluation of care. · Consideration of ethical and cultural standards in all care provided to promote and maintain strong therapeutic relationships. · Facilitation of each clients’ transition between various health care settings, including collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and making appropriate referrals. In addition, Sarah has many years of experience working as a registered nurse in the areas of lung transplantation, heart and thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, neurology, and internal medicine in acute care hospital settings in the United States. This well-rounded experience allows for the application of thorough and informed care to clients with various comorbidities.
