Kratom Treatment Programme
Kratom Treatment Programme
To Note: When taken in moderation and with caution, kratom can benefit our wellbeing. Like everything in life, the issue is that once we become addicted to something, we weaken our brain's ability to self-regulate, and the risks begin to outweigh the positives.
Kratom dependency can be hard to treat for twofold reasons. Firstly, there are a lot of unknown substances in kratom. For example, while experts are unsure what it is, one such substance seems to act similarly to benzodiazepine (an anti-anxiety medication). Secondly, kratom produces both stimulant and opioid effects. This means that a person can essentially be 'doubly- addicted' to both the upper and downer impact on the brain. Hence, holistic and comprehensive treatment methods like ours are essential to overcome a kratom addiction.
At Paracelsus Recovery, we only ever treat one client at any given time to make sure that you receive maximum care, attention, and confidentiality. Our 360-degree treatment method can effectively restore your health and help you live a kratom-free life.
To achieve this, we use a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach that addresses all the underlying causes of your dependency, not just the symptoms. Upon arrival, a thorough assessment is carried out to determine the exact treatment and therapies required and identify any physical, medical, and psychological issues requiring special attention. The assessment includes a complete medical check-up including extensive laboratory tests, a functional health assessment, a review of medical history and current and past medication, an extensive psychiatric assessment, a substance use assessment and a lifestyle and nutritional assessment.
We will design an individual treatment plan based on the results of these assessments. For one-to-one treatment, our team of renowned specialist therapists and doctors will work exclusively with you. A 'live-in' therapist will also be available for emotional support around the clock throughout your entire stay. The residential treatment programme usually takes four weeks, and our team will work with you for 8 – 12 hours a day. We can also provide aftercare services if deemed necessary.
What is Kratom?
Kratom is a psychotropic (mind-alerting) substance derived from the leaves of a Southeast Asian plant known as mitragyna speciosa. Although kratom has been used as an opioid withdrawal aid since 1836, it has skyrocketed in recent years. While kratom can help some people, it leads to far more problems than it solves for others. Worryingly, because kratom is not yet illegal, users are often unaware of the risks that come with abuse.
Side Effects of Kratom Abuse Include:
- Dependency or other addictions
- Depression and Anxiety
- Hostility and Irritability
- Insomnia and muscle aches
- Opioid withdrawal symptoms
- Overdose/Death (especially when combined with other substances).
- Coma / Seizures
- Intrahepatic cholestasis
- Psychosis & hallucinations
- High blood pressure
Why is Kratom Addictive?
Kratom contains mitragynine which is roughly 13 times more potent than morphine. In low doses, it will interact with receptors in our brain to produce a stimulant effect. However, in high doses, the mitragynine and another kratom compound known as 7-α-hydroxymitragynine interact with opioid receptors in our brain. As a result, these compounds produce almost identical effects to opioids, such as increased pleasure and decreased pain.
However, this also means that kratom is as addictive as both opioids and stimulants. Some experts even argue that this combination of addictive properties makes kratom even more addictive than cocaine or heroin.
Signs of Kratom Dependency
Signs of Kratom Dependency Include:
- Constantly thinking about Kratom.
- Kratom abuse is negatively impacting your career, relationships, and finances.
- You find yourself more and more willing to take risks or engage in reckless behaviour to obtain kratom.
- Needing an ever-increasing dosage of kratom to achieve that high.
- You started taking kratom to help opioid withdrawal, but now you are taking both kratom and opioids, or your kratom abuse is now mirroring how you used to abuse opioids.
- Flu-like symptoms when sober.
A kratom addiction can be overpowering, especially if you begin abusing this substance in the hopes it would help you stop taking other opioids. It can be disheartening to realise you are still stuck in an addictive cycle, and it can be very difficult to overcome that cycle alone. While seeking help for your dependency is never an easy decision, it is the right one when it comes to your health and wellbeing.

& Bio Resonancia
Kratom is a psychotropic plant derived from the leaves of a tree in southeast Asia. It is a legal supplement that is often promoted as an opioid (heroin) withdrawal aid in the West. However, kratom is unregulated and addictive, which means more and more people are substituting one dependency for the other.
Kratom abuse can lead to numerous unwanted side effects, including heart attacks, high blood pressure and abnormal heart rhythms.
The main psychoactive components in the leaves are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine. These are alkaloids mainly responsible for the effects of kratom and are only found in the Mitragyna speciosa. Mitragynine produces a stimulant effect by itself but becomes more like an opioid when combined with 7-hydroxymitragynine.

Yes, kratom has been used as a natural home remedy for hundreds of years, and we can continue to do so if it is taken in moderation and mindfully. The most common uses of it are to treat depression, relieve pain and help in opioid withdrawal.
